Stars

Flickering in new flame

Glittering in a sky of pitch,

Dancing across a unique stage,

Embroidered white, by an artisan’s stitch

Swaying in the delicate breeze,

Stretched across a distance so vast,

You find your way, no matter the journey

Then with grace find your way home at last

Against all odds, you find a way to live

In spiraling spheres of perilous gas

Alone, pondering the worlds come and gone

Accompanied only by colorful mists of the past

Alone, and in complete solitude

And yet you decorate our world’s ceiling

You bring hope to every child and creature

and every emotion worth feeling

You inspired the civilizations of old,

And continue to do so today

With constellations of spots in the sky

And picturesque waves on the bay

You are my inspiration

To create, as you have done

And for all the starry-eyed people,

You shine for everyone
