A Staples encounter

I walked into your store
when I set my eyes on you, I felt this electricity
I felt a connection
Normally I am self-contained
Only moving into action when I follow my gut
Your eyes were hazel
Your skin was light mocha
Your smile was infectious
Your voice was low, subtle and sweet

“I need a slip cover for my Mac.”
You went to the back and brought out an entire bin
I laughed, “wow that’s a lot of stuff.”
You helped me look, but now I was trying to buy time to see your smile, your beautiful face
Your sweet tender voice trailing in the early morning hours

“To bad no covers, they’re to small”
and you said “Size doesn’t matter”
I was struck by your comment
“I agree and I have personal experience.”
You laughed a shy smile…
I was leaving and looked back and waved good bye, so did you.

Now my heart racing
Thoughts on fire
I want to know this man
This sexy, shy, cute man
What to do…

I arrived at McDonalds
which is two blocks over
I said “I will Google the store and get the number, I will take a risk and let him know how I feel.”
Ring, Ring, “Thank you for calling Staples…”
and after worrying about how many options there were,
I was not sure I get you on the phone

But finally, when someone answered
It was you, I can tell, it was your voice.
“Hi are you the guy who helped me try to purchase a cover for my Mac?”
“Uh, yes, yes it’s me, how can I help you.”
“Uh yes, I don’t know if I should be doing this, but it may be an inappropriate question, hmmm are you gay?”

You were silent, it sounded like you wanted to say yes, you fumbled over the phone, not sure what to say, I can hear it, the hesitation and then you said “I’m sorry I don’ think I should be answering this question over the phone.”

“It’s okay, I completely understand, if you like I can give you my number and you can decide if you want to call me and we can talk, silent hesitation…”It’s okay if you yes or no, I won’t break I just wanted to let you know I was interested and attracted to you.”

“Uh” silent and fumbling again with your words, you were so sweet, I felt somehow you wanted to say yes….”Sorry no, no, thanks take care.” “Okay, you too.”
At least I tried…now I can’t get him out of my mind.
