Standing Up To Be Flawless
Location
Waken up by a new day with the light shining,
Shaken by the voices and all the whining.
A new day means a new you,
No matter how glume or how blue.
A new face and a new smile,
Is what makes me truly worthwhile.
We as humans judge our appearance,
But is worth a pass in our clearance?
As for myself, I do not cave in,
I truly fight back, and I am sure to win.
Can people contest back and put us into solace?
No they cannot, we are truly flawless.
But what is the answer that brings me to fight?
What can bring me and others out of spite?
It is not the true painting on the outside,
But it is the meaning and feeling on the inside.
I, myself, will prevail,
In the mind and voice of what I sincerely hail.
No one can judge me. I am who I am.
I stand as one person, holding my heart in hand.
Poking and pulling at ones self-esteem,
What is there to earn and what is there to redeem?
Words may take on the form of pain,
But standing up for who I am is the world’s best gain.
