Standard and Light

1 John 1:7                  New English Translation

7 But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

We walk according to the light we have, although our limit shows here

Not up to the degree it falls on us, but according to the light we absorb

How can this be explained as such if in that I even can get the message

Well, let me start over again with the conscience as the standard norm

Conscience is not a standard of Holiness; only Christ alone is that

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; outside of Him, there’s nothing

He provides the only standard that embraces God the Father’s fellowship

He paved the narrow path fulfilling all conditions that cleanse from all sin

A good conscience merely assures us that we’re striving for completeness

As far as our knowledge goes and indeed our willingness to follow

To reach our immediate goal, you know, but not the ultimate

For that is based on Grace as being all of God and not on only sorrow
