Spark

She wasn't very thin
She wasn't very pretty
She wasn't very loud
She wasn't very witty

But something happened on that night
She saw the strangest thing
She saw a boy with glasses
She saw him dance and sing

His arms were thin
His smile was wide
And when he walked
He stepped with pride

She couldn't help but look
She couldn't help but stare
She couldn't help but notice
The lightness of his hair

Her breath cut short
Her palms got sweaty
When her friend pulled her toward him
She knew she wasn't ready

Her heart beat fast
Her vision got dark
But when he talked
She felt a spark
