Spacewalker

Youth brings wonder to every front

Noble venture to deadly hunt

My naive eyes half-lidded and veiled

Once envisioned the stars man scaled

But a sky black like treacle can swallow us whole

And we tread beyond limits on frontiers we stole

It suffocates men who walk among stars

Embalm in the void our vapor trail scars
