Southern Discomfort

They seek peace in their souls

Hold fast the ones they love,

Carry on with newfound strength

And pray they are enough.

A light within their hearts

Seems to slowly fade away

Dimming all tomorrows,

Holding on to yesterday.

In the distance they hear

Purrs. The earth - it rumbles!

Vibrations trigger tremors

Reality – it crumbles!

Engulfed by the wind,

Soaring with the skies

Long past the horizon

A great spirit flies.

Memories now supplant

Each their own heartfelt hurt,

Embrace the love and say

Goodbye southern discomfort.
