I have come to learn

Soul mates are not only found 

Within romantic relationships 

But are also found in friendships

For this connection between our souls

It is so deep and profound 

In which I have never felt connected

To any other soul as much as to yours

Unconditional love and care

Complete understanding of one another

Able to be my complete authentic self

Able to be vulnerable, raw and real

To act as free as a child 

To have such deep connections

Such deep conversations 

To help each other grow 

Side by side, 

Each our own person 

Yet together but separate we grow  

 

For years and years 

I desired to find a soulmate 

Within a romantic relationship 

And then you came along 

And I never even knew 

This deep of a connection

Between two friends 

Between two souls could exist 

She makes me believe in myself
