Songs We Share

Was your voice smooth and slow

Like mine to the beat of the radio

Or did it rasp with a low edge

Like rocks falling from a cliff ledge

Would you face strong notes head on

Bravado telling of brawn

Or stray away, mingling with simpler tunes

Like Jupiter around his many moons

Could you dance with higher octaves

Was falsetto your motive

Or could you rumble the ground

Crooning like a forlorn bloodhound

Do I sound like you

Is the resemblance pure and blue

Can we sing a song in unison

And turn the wheels of time and reason?
