Song of the South
A tall glass of sweet tea to start off your day
Then to the barn to deal out the hay.
There isn’t anything better than a life in the South
Sunsets so beautiful you can’t shut your mouth.
The summers are hot so you jump in the creek
Things like this make the South never feel bleak.
Hot and sweaty days spent on the farm
End when the boys come home to their Southern Belles’ arms.
Spending nights beneath the star-spangled skies
Will always be known to spark a fire in your eyes.
Taking the young ones out to shoot their first gun,
Spending life like this makes the South so much fun.
Spending time with family around the dinner table,
It makes you joyful like a happily ending fable.
A manly meal of scrambled eggs and meat
This hearty food ensures the South can’t be beat.
Everyone gets full and it’s time for a long nap
You stop to be thankful for the kids asleep your lap.
As you look around, you can most definitely see,
That God is good to the folks down in Dixie.
From the beautiful bloom of the cotton bolls
To the joy that you see fill all of our souls,
Life in Dixie is always something to enjoy,
Especially in the life of an Ole Southern boy.
