Song for Alex

When I heard my friend Alex had passed away

I sat down and wrote this song to take the pain away

When I heard you were gone I didn’t believe it

I said they were wrong then prayed to jesus

I looked up your name and there it was

an article that said you were gone

A fatal car crash on the highway

You and two others left us that day

It was your mother and her boyfriend 38 and 36 they were young but you  were 18

I remember sitting by you at lunch

And lifting weights with you after school

You moved away after junior year, I can’t believe that’ll be, the last time I see you

When I heard you were gone I couldn’t believe it

I fell to my knees and prayed to Jesus

You were too young, but who am I

to question the man, in the sky

Goodbye my friend your with God now,

I’ll see you again, in the clouds

but until then, rest          in peace

When I heard you were gone I couldn’t believe it

I fell to my knees and prayed to Jesus

Rest easy my friend you’re with the Lord now

Goodbye, Alex
