SOMETIMES I JUST SIT AND STARE

Mon, 05/30/2016 - 01:45 -- joe mn

Sometimes I just sit and stare

I don't wander off into that fantasy world

where horses have horns and wings to hold

where the sun has a smiley countenance

where rainbows come with a pot of gold

and where clouds can gladly let me sit on them

No. Sometimes I just sit and stare

Sometimes I just sit and stare

I don't delve into the ubiquitous domain of imagination

where inventors make dreams come to

where possibilities are turned to capabilities

where the future is woven from void morsels of virtually nothing

No. Sometimes I just sit and stare

Sometimes I just sit and stare

I don't fall into the dark abyss of premonition

I don't see ravenous monsters baying for my blood

I don't see the grim ripper's dark smile calling for me

I don't weep at the fretful bloody chainsaws that desire my insides

No. Sometimes I just sit and stare

I believe life is what I can see

And so I stare at which I can see

For sometimes I just sit and stare.
