Some kind of faith

Here,
I would have given You
A thousand things if only
I could ever really be with You
But I seem to be ever only-
On an endless merry-go-round
But the goings not so merry
The way is steep, and I-
Go down down down
That broad and shallow path.
Yet still I hear You're singing
Broad and deep with lines of age
Aged unto eternity
Yet You are as young as today
And only as old as tomorrow.
So here, I'll look at Your promises,
Hold them up under a bright light
Let the lantern slides tell secrets
If only to know You save.
But faith is all I have now
Faith that Your promises are true.
And surely You're used to this by now,
This utter-aching, this doubt.
Yet God I cannot help but find
A poem that I have in mind
I pour it out, an offering
One to give my heart to Thee.
If I am Your child
And Lord You are mine.
I will need a miracle
By this very night.
And I cannot help but feel,
This curious, curious hope,
That somethings already happening
That somethings been put in motion.
