Some day...

Location

Every Friday and Saturday

You go and drink

You go and dance

You go and loose your mind

Being far from home

Far from rules

Far from reality

Far from truth

In college you make new friends

Friends you hardly know

Friends you party with

Friends at face value

One night you drink too much

Way too much

Way too fast

Way too far from people you can trust

You black out after many drinks

Blurred lights

Blurred faces

Blurred hours

And the worst thing imaginable happens

WAKE UP BEING VIOLATED

BEG HIM TO STOP

NO ONE TO HELP

PASS OUT COLD

forget for a while

pretend it didn't happen

hide from the truth

sleep all day

sleep all night

tell no one

depression

worthlessness

hatred

contempt

deadness

blackness

you meet someone new

he likes you

he cares about you

he knows you've been hurt

He helps you to realize that not all is lost

Your life isn't over

Your life can improve

Your life can benefit from this

hard times

come and go

depression

Medication

"It is not your fault"

You know you shouldn't think it was

You hear it all the time

You cannot get that through your head

Recovery from the trauma seems possible

But you know it will be hard

But you know it will take time

But you sometimes lose the strength

You know you will be okay

And make a difference in this world

And help other women who have suffered

And learn to love yourself

And know it's not your fault... some day...
