Crushed like a leaf beneath your foot
My heart lies there
Dying yet still alive
Do you not love me?
For I am merely
Me, myself and I
I do not accept me
Nor does society
I am not beautiful
Nor am I ugly

I am merely plain to your cruel cruel eyes
Do you not see?
What society has placed upon you and me?
The hatred the caused us to part
Like cupids bow and his arrows afar
Love is not what I need
But sister society to accept me

You are not the victor, nor the one who shall hold my heart
My dying beating heart
Yet I still breathe and live, even though an organ so vital is dead.
My dying beating heart
Was yours for the moment
But brother culture’s for the millennium
Sister society has grown jealous because of how I fear
My heart no longer beats for you, the one I held so dear

For sister and Brother dear have condemned me
To my very fear
Abandoned once again by
You in life’s dear punishing hold
That is victorious and bold
Because you crushed my heart like a leaf
As the wind blew
Away loves dying arrow
