Take my tears and sow them into raindrops as you splash them beneath your feet.
Live like the crow,
The unwanted black dove that skies seem to fear.
Puncture the dead,
And give the roses to the ones who live.
Speak with emotion,
But hide the truth under notes and silly rings.
Praise the Lord,
But throw around the word Sin.
Eat my smile and drink my fears,
Bury the right and contribute to the wrong.
Yell in my face,
Use laughs as though they are a way to deprive me of my dignity.
Praise the lies,
Give life to your fear!,
Of only not knowing what a real beating heart may feel like.
My face will not flush,
My colors will not drown,
The stars won't stop shinning and the winds will only keep breathing.
But me,
I am only going to win.

This is an amazingly powerful poem. I really liked how the ending line is a bit of a surprise, because you write about all the things that can keep people down, but then how we are still going to "win."
