I received the text about

a Soccer game

haphazardly thrown together

by my more athletic friends.

I decided to join in.

Why not? Seems like fun.

After the first match

I was hooked on the Beautiful Game,

and exquisite mashup of agility, skill, and concentration.

Every following week as I got the same text,

my heart fluttered with joy and excitement

to go out on the pitch. I slowly became consumed

Watching, playing, living, breathing,

I couldn't get enough.

My skill slowly improved

But was no match for my exponentially growing adoration for

The Beautiful Game.
