Snowflakes

On my tongue I catch a snowflake,

Smiling at the sweet taste,

That soothes in me some weary ache.

I stand alone, misplaced

In the world of white, so awake

In this land that I have been placed.

And I think, “Am I a mistake?”

In this land Interlaced

With snow fairies that dance and shake

Their magic at my face.

But after a moment, I make

Myself really see this space.

And a part of my heart breaks,

As I see all the colors that have been erased,

Only to be replaced

By all of the dancing snowflakes.
