Snow Globe
A swift, steady, determined shake
Sleeping village from slumber wakes
The lonely streets caressed by flakes
The town turns over, but snoozes on
Children dozing under warm covers
While elders watch the fire die
Talking about winters long gone
Warmed by flames and memories
As they watch the children lie
Dreaming of frozen paradise
Perfection coated with sheets of ice
Till it's shattered by laughing, playing, dancing in the wetness
Till I give the globe another shake
And remember once more
This poem is about:
Me
My country
Our world
