Smoothie

My life is like a smoothie that my loved ones helped me make.

It's colorful and fruity and a little bit cray cray.

The good pink times with kith and kin are sweet bits of good fruit.

The bitter blue berries with hard seeds are hard times I went through.

The plain white vanilla yogurt are the plain ordinary days.

The Greek yogurt is stuff that's gross but healthy so I eat it anyway.

The protein powder tastes like dust, but it gives me staying power.

The almond milk is packed with nutritious lessons I've devoured.

A touch of friendship honey takes the edge off the bitter.

Even tart raspberries can make the blend better.

If it's too sweet, you can't enjoy it. Contrast gives perspective.

Not all the ingredients taste good, but they get me to my objective.

Sometimes you get to choose, so you should always be selective.

Only add the things that will make your life effective.

Sometimes it's not your choice, so do the best you can do,

To take the stuff you have and make the best brew.

The older I get, and the more I have to remember,

The more the ingredients of my life start to blend together.

The good memories have tart tinges of what might have been.

The bad times are sweeter now because of what they contributed.

Juicy fruit adds nutrition and a sugary tasty treat.

Bitter berries, though they're blue, are packed with Vitamin See.

It all comes together to make a refreshing, strengthening boost.

That is how my weird life is like a healthy smoothie.
