A Smile Worth While

When I took a look around

I saw no one

looked my way

I looked up above and down below

and all around the sun

it wasn't till I shut my eyes and thought the world was done

that I found you

my love

my world

my rock

my star

the only one worth while

you came around the corner like my very own

you knew right away I was all alone

when I looked into your eyes I saw I was never really withered

my heartbreak was not true

now that I'd found you

the color returned into my skin

and I felt human yet once again

you looked at me and saw the red river of my wrists

you made me promise that you'd see this not even once again

then you turned and walked back down the street

at that point my fear took over

I thought that you were like all others

with that I curled

back in a ball

and wished I'd seen you none at all

my love

my world

my rock

my star

the only one worth while

was gone forever more

or so I had thought for right that very afternoon

you were right back at my door

you brought with you a smile

a piece of heaven for a while

I looked at you  yet once again

and you melted through my heart

that smile was the key

to my very own being

you opened the door

and I knew no more

the hopelessness I knew before

my love

my world

my rock

my star

the only one worth while

I love you to the moon and back

and eternally I am grateful
