A Smile Lasts Forever

12/1/2011, age 17

A shining star, a cute kitten;

All are beautiful, all are bright.

How is one to avoid the beauty

Of the earth?

You cannot say that laughter is bad

For a smile lasts forever, and the world

Spins round and round.  Just cry out

Triumphant, “I can shine,” for the pearls

Rejoice and listen to angels play

Their gold harps of melody.

Just is the wind, and the clouds hide the sun.

Love but one petal? No, love’s a whole pasture

Of red roses abloom. For each ray of

The daylight is the smile from each heart.
