Smile

Jeremiah 8:5

Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path?
Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back?
They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.

An ever moving search for what’s called “certainty”

A lasting foundation that we won’t completely trust

Through emotional ups and downs we’re grasping for straws

That appear like dangling ropes where hanging on is a must

Confidence and security standing by the fence

We won’t let go of it as we keep on straddling

Giving all the orders for us not to give up

Hanging on to faith as a wooden horse we’re saddling

“Move on” we holler while standing on sinking sand

As the little horsy disappears slowly in the crud

Only our heads are showing as we’re gasping for air

Receiving last instructions thro feelings in our gut

“Onward quickly horsie”, follow our advice

Life cannot be experienced in the state you’re in

Come and stand with us and we will make you wise

So you will be just like us ... blind to all our sins

The moral of the story if I could think of one

Would be very simple: “don’t trust a wooden horse”

And about the fence ... it just limits the freedom

A man-made obstacle that gets you off course
