Smashed down in a box
Smashed down in a box is a smothered tulip.
No one knows who put it in there.
It can breath slightly through the cracks in the cardboard.
It sees a mere glimpse of light.
Yet, it is a smothered tulip that no one can see.
Why are its petals hidden amongst the sqaure, brown box?
What good can come of a tulip that is not given its light?
What good can come of a tulip that is not seen or smelled?
What good can come of a tulip that's seeds will never be planted?
What good can come of a tulip that has never known a bee?
The tulip is alive,
It just needs to be set free.
It must be released from its cardboard captivity.
Who would put such a beautiful bloom in a boring brown box?
