Sliver of Strength

Ocean eyes frozen over, silenced

by the string of letters forming

hateful words rolling off the

tongue of the person who she thought

would never use words as bullets

to murder her spirit with. Pieces of her heart

melting away and barrelling silently

down her face likt tiny rivers of

emotion cascading through the

peaks and valleys of a stoic landscape.

she tries to stay strong as the daggers

that shoot from her attackers

words bombard her soul and try to fracture

the last fragile sliver of her strength

as if it was just a toy all aong. At last

the quiet of her mind is stolen, the

shield she constructed has cracked and

then that las sliver of strength he

stored away shatters, rendering her

demolished like the shell of a house

after the insides hace been set fire

to. Charred and unrecognizable after.
