A Slice of Life

Life is a fresh loaf of bread

A thin layer of butter

Melts into the rounded top,

Strengthening its savor.

The outside is crisp

            But not too hard

The salty inside

            Warms my mouth

As I chew the soft substance.

I can’t help but take another bite.
