Sleepy and flesh

Ephesians 5:29-30 New English Translation (NET Bible)

29 For no one has ever hated his own body, but he feeds it and takes care of it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are members of his body.

 Heavy are the curtains

Daylight is already here

The eyelids are weighing down

The mind moves into slumber

It is for certain

Possibly a kind of fear

That’s all around

As reality becomes a number

Flesh seems to get its way

The mind’s filled with dullness

Refreshing integration

Is sliding downhill fast

None here left to say

or to remind us of fullness

That brings motivation

for the things that don’t last

The winner and the looser

In a tight embrace

Whosoever protects the game

that won’t come to an end

Way past the boozer

In the futility in this race

Where none will be named

In such no one to offend
