Looks are deceiving

you look at a beautiful girl walk down the halls yet,

you don't see her insecurities masked behind her books,

the terror under her glasses,

the scars under her clothes.

Intelligence replaces self-esteem.

Confidence evolved past our prior knowledge.

Only she knows her strengths,

yet, she masked the vulnerability with

confidence and paper.
