Sister

Sister, oh sister

She is gone, but oh how I miss her

I never got hold her

Never got to kiss her

I was supposed to teach her

But instead the role was reversed

As if it was rehearsed

She gave me faith

She taught me hope

Which was not only to help me cope

But to open my ears to hear a beautiful note

The note that life should be celebrated

And positivity will be created

Because nothing in life should be hated

Sister, oh sister

She is gone, but oh how I miss her

She gifted me growth

I can feel it in my bones

I can feel it in my soul

I can feel it take control

And I shifted

To a life of positive thinking

A life without feeling like I’m sinking

Sister, oh sister

She is not gone

I am with her

She lives in my heart

And can be seen in every part

I really miss her

But after a lifetime I’ll visit her.
