The Siren's New Call
The siren of today doesn't lure men to death,
But instead uses it for good, until her last, dying breath.
Her ocean is polluted, her lungs filled with muck,
She has to admit that she is now stuck.
She's using her call to do something new:
Getting others to help with all she's been through.
She convinces them to help clean up the waste
That's left her dear ocean completely defaced.
Her call brings them grief as she uses her voice
To describe the damage, all done by choice
By normal people, who don't care about the sea:
Normal people, just like you and me.
They realize their blunder and all they have done,
So now the big clean up has finally begun.
All because the siren wouldn't sit still
And used her voice to clean up the spill.
(As for the idea of killing lured men,
She does engage in that now and then.
But only with those who deserve the cruelest demotion:
Those who do not care about saving the ocean.)
