A Single Rose

(Version 1)

A Single Rose

Vibrant, Bloodred

Lying crushed in the gutter

Abandoned, Alone

Petals scattered

Stem bent

And the last thorn

Stained with Blood

A single ribbon

Vibrant, Bloodred

Lying in the gutter

Abandoned, Alone

Lying in the gutter

Next to the rose

(Version 2)

A single rose

Vibrant, bloodred

Broken promises

Broken hearts

Lying in the gutter

Abandoned, Alone

A single ribbon

Vibrant, bloodred

Broken promises

Broken hearts

Lying in the gutter

Abandoned, Alone

Lying in the gutter

With the red rose

Lying together

Abandoned, alone

Lying next to

The lonely rose

**So I had written this once, the first time... And then I forgot it and re-wrote it on paper, which led to the second version. They're both about the same thing... I had a very vivid image in my mind of the back door of a club that led to a dark alley. The only light is an old streetlight and the ribbon is tied around the rose. They are laying in the gutter, but there is no real street...
