Simply Sitting

There sat a man upon a stool,
And with him was a glass.
He sat there lost in his thoughts,
The others found him crass.

The glass completely empty,
And food completely gone.
Yet he sat there lost in his thoughts,
You’d think something was wrong.

The shop owner just rolled her eyes--
All but him came and went!
The man had paid no mind at all,
Since this was time well spent.

The man, not happy nor sad,
Was simply content.
He just stayed to take it easy,
No reason to repent.
