I watch the silver raindrop
Skate on the glass.
Gently sliding
It falls into the grass
Below.

Another raindrop, and another,
I stare at them and see the tears
Of my mother.
I had hurt her
Deeply.

Tears of sorrow, and of pain.
They welled up in her blue eyes.
She looked away
And cried.
Softly.

Rain on my window
Tears on her cheek
It’s cold and gray.
She’s sad, and meek
Today.

I contemplate, then run to her arms.
I’m sorry.
Words can really harm.
I hope this hug can heal
…slowly.
