The Silence's Truth

stumbling in the dark, I lose my grip.
tripping.
what was once thought as a haven was just an illusion.
drowned myself with distraction.
faint-heartedly ran away from the truth
blindsided by what I always knew
left in the rough
bleeding in my own lies
I cower there in the raw
worthlessness and self-pity cascade over my every thought
time passes
yet I'm still waiting for what might never come
