Silence ...

Job 13:5

If only you would keep completely silent!
For you, that would be wisdom.

Silence

How many voices speak to me ... in moments of silence?

Voices I don’t want to listen too ... particularly in the night.

During the day I can drown them out ... with all kinds of busyness

but at night filled with pollution ... the voices bring mostly fright.

If in the day I would give in ... and shutdown for a while

with no speaking or activity ... just to in quietness listen

then maybe the voice of truth be heard ... in solemn deep submission

and I could accept the words whispered ... to understand forgiveness.

Job said it well in thirteen five ... if you just would be silent.

That would be your wisdom ... to carry you through the day.

Miserable comforters you are ... in love with your own voices.

Yes, religion at its worst ... when quietness fades away.
