Side by side and hand in hand
Individuals from different races stand
In an attempt to make the world equal
So everyone can have a chance.
Side by side and hand in hand
Black and white stood to take their stand
In an attempt to bring equality when the invisible line was becoming blurred
With one cause in mind and one goal at heart they didn't care who was light or who was dark.
Instead they gathered together and made a stand, making America a better place for every man.
Even when one by one the Civil rights leaders fell, and the two races seem to quell,
those who stood up against segregation still fought for equal rights.
That stand they took all those years ago, made a difference in the world.
Schools are now integrated with more than one race and students know who fought to make it that way.
because of those people who stood side by side and hand in hand ready to take a stand, ready to have their voices heard, spoken out against the injustice that occurred, Plessy Verses Ferguson may not have been reversed
