Shipwreck

I am the ship

that has carried pirates and runaways

through the saltiest seas just because

I'm too kind to let souls sail alone.

I am the one with the treasures

Every ruby, emerald and diamond

That could easily give any noble man

His rightful palace and throne.

I am the battered and the beaten

By strong winds and high tides

And after all of this meaningless travel

I see you.

And all I've been doing

is trying to get home.
