You've been beaten into submission,
Eyes of dampened fires happen to blaze
And I know you're still in there somewhere.

If they tell you you're worthless
You're nothing
You can't do anything good.
You'll begin to believe it, won't you?
But you're not.

I tell you
You're beautiful
Brown eyes fearfully tear up
I'm just a nice kid who will say these kinds of things
So you laugh it off

Your eyes have memorized the feel of his fist
Bruises fade
Cuts heal
But The Scars transform
Suddenly his lies
Become your truth

You'll repeat them
It's your fault.
It's YOUR fault
YOU caused him to do this
YOU made him mad

For a man
Who wants to prove how manly he is
How dare he raise his fist
To the mother of his children
To the woman he promised to protect and love

It's painful to watch the transformation
How your forward gaze never rises from the floor
The frozen smile
The sagging shoulders
As soon as you cross that doorway

How is it his house
When you are the only one working
Paying
For everything
Body, soul, spirit

I tell you how beautiful you are
You laugh till tears form
And I know both of our hearts are breaking

This is an amazingly powerful poem, which tells an awful story, but one that needs to be told because people who live it are often too afraid to tell it themselves. Towards the beginning of this poem, I thought you were writing about an abusive boyfriend, so when it became clear that the man was actually a father, it definitely gave the story an even sadder tone. You are a wonderful poet! Check out the "resources" section for some great "poetry writing tips" to give you even more interesting ways to tell your life story!
