She Moved

Walking along gloomy
Streets, the sight of
Yesterday
Too disturbing to
Not be recalled
To mind’s eye

Empty bridge today
Does not reflect the
Helpless story of
Days passed
Dented pavement
Once strewn
Red with the
Blood of an innocent
Pure girl
Mislead by what she
Thought she was
Supposed to have
Been
Took to a bigger
Leap of courage than
Those who
Paint on faces
Conformity defeating
Individuality

The Girl on the
Bridge in days passed
Knew this wasn’t her
Place

She moved.
