She danced

The way she danced in the dark made my heart stop
She was the princess I've been waiting for
But I was just the sidekick trained to hop
Her light brown eyes burned me to the core
I smile to mask how I feel as I take her hand
Around the hall we danced as if today was the end
I was a fool but you were the most beautiful in the land
Pain every time I was reminded I'm just a friend.
But deep down I know you deserve more
I mean I'm just low life who stole a dance
Sweet woman You're as graceful as the shore
Me the short guy who never stood a chance
Cursed to only watch you grow and fall in love from a distance
Silent screams when you speak of another
But the outside shows no resistants
As I'm forced to walk the course as a brother
