The Sharpest Sword

Words
Innocent letters
Characters put together to form a thought, an emotion, a feeling.
Effortless type that flows from the pipes of your mouth
polluting the marvelous ocean of my soul omnipotent
Concepts that when spoken softly are thrust into my heart swelling
My veins with a venom that overcomes me
That holds me down and kills me.
That sucks every ounce of joy from my soul.
Those letters you crafted, molded, meticulously devised into words,
That you once spoke to me so sweetly.
That once became embedded in my heart
As a flower in my garden of dreams.
They now consume me, scorch me because every
Word you said was a lie, every kiss you gave was
A concealed sentence to a life in a world
Where I watch you fly away into the sunset above my defiled waters.
