They hide in the shadows

for the shadows conceal thier pain

the bruises and cuts fade into dark

we have yet to see the hidden mark

sometimes too afraid as one who cannot speak

we must rise to be thier voices

for who else will speak for them?

for the afraid? for the sad?

only we can stand for the hidden

only we can speak for the unspoken

thier pain is for us to fix

it is for us to justify

for there should be no more hidden lies

when it leaves a child to cry.
