Self-satisfaction

2 Timothy 1:3             New English Translation

Thanksgiving and Charge to Timothy

3 I am thankful to God, whom I have served with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, when I remember you in my prayers as I do constantly night and day.

Self-satisfaction

How to know that your conscience is clear?

Could it be in a condition called: Hardened?

Is it not when it convicts of all the wrong you do?

So the clear it states that you’re far from being

The way you really ought to be and here is proof

Don’t bathe yourself over again in self-satisfaction

Don’t enjoy the contentment with the way you are

It is the fall of so many, who only enjoy a fraction

Of the power available that are for the godly meant

Great gain it is written, are contentment and godliness

The first without the other is carnality in bloom

With the Spirit missing and no direction from the Lord

All that is then waiting is seemingly a world of doom
