Self-pity

James 1:14     New English Translation

14 But each one is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desires.

Broken in desires and just wishing for death

Is that what’s talked about that makes the whole so sad?

Self-pity

Guilt drives a person to this point when sin  compares to the pure

All now touched seems to turn filthy in thoughts, words, and reason

When darkness seems to surround, and shadows linger and endure

The end appears within your reach and produces good looks out of season

Self is self, and is that all that counts? Does nothing else now matter?

Running into oneness trying to escape and get away from the light of day

Everything seems so far away, similar to shadows, which can’t splatter

Into an endless self-made circle, as you stray, with no one here now left to pay
