Self made conscience

Romans 3:20  New English Translation

20 For no one is declared righteous before him by the works of the law, for through the law comes to the knowledge of sin

Self-made

In being wrong, I transgress the law; in being good, is there a difference?

If I establish my own righteousness without Jesus, I am a Pharisee

In my flesh, there dwells no good, and still, I can at times do some

I guess that’s well understood. It adds up like one plus two is three.

I know what’s right, or do I now? I know what’s wrong for sure

Things seem right but still are bad, and I don’t see the difference

So when I am unfit to make things right, I am nobody’s fool

I mix them up and swallow the cup in blindness and indifference

So to enter in the presence with the slightest confidence

And fill the room from top to floor with self-satisfaction

With pride of achievement and trophies, you racked up

Will only lead you on to a simple way of self-destruction
