Self Destruct

Location

Which is worse a gun or a thought?

You can dodge the bullet of a gun but your mind you can’t block?

Staring at walls with silence on your lips

Words that echo through your brain but appear on your skin in strips

 Help me.

Fix me.

Save me.

You began to alter

Then you initiated your falter

Going above and beyond just to be a copy

A replica of society

If I could change one thing it would be the way you see yourself.

No more tears on the constant war field that takes place within oneself.

I don’t want to see you lead yourself down the path of self-destruction

The road that made you hate your perfect imperfections

The fake smiles, the self-hate, and the unending misery

The emotion filled nights that left your pillows wet, your thoughts askew and your mind weary

It’s too much pain for someone so young

It’s time to stop the words that once stung

You’re beautiful just the way you are, you’ll win this war

Whenever you feel like you’re sinking I’ll pull you up to shore

If I could change one thing it would be the way you see yourself

Because your beautiful is a beauty like no one else.
