See You Later

The hardest thing for me to do is to say goodbye.
You’re on your way, leaving me behind.
Although I won’t be near, I wish you luck on your way.
But, just don’t forget the girl in your glass door.

Sometimes you meet someone who knows you more
Than you know yourself.
And sometimes, no matter what the circumstance,
Their handprint will always be on your heart.

Look up to the sky through the drops of rain on a cloudy day
And listen to the outbursts of pure laughter.
Rise above the storm and see the smile
Of the girl who will never turn away

I’ll always be there; you’ll always be here.
The miles will fade and the distance will disappear,
As we look into faded emblems of black and orange
And see the making of a year unravel.

Looking back, we find home.
Reading notes across a sheet, counting measures,
Creating our own harmonies,
And putting them together
A jigsaw puzzle of our new lives,
Solved.

Sing like you’ve never sang before and never stop.
Shine like the light from the sun.
Don’t let me down, keep your head up and be proud.
I sure am, more than you’ll ever know.

I love you, best friend.
And no matter how hard this may seem.
It’s not a goodbye.
It’s a see you later.
