The Sea's Maiden

Come my friends and hear a story to behold.
Of a maiden who belonged to the sea!
As legend is told the maiden left him long ago for the land.
For the land and sea fought over the fair maiden.
But she would only sing for one of them.

Oh come, come, one of the sea and listen to me!
This she would sing for the man who's the spirit of the sea.
I'm sorry that I hurt thee!
She would sing for she truly love him and never meant to leave.
In the pale moonlight late at night you can hear the sea sing.
Oh fair maiden my heart you have captured for all of eternity!

A war for the maiden's hand in marriage broke out between land and sea.
But soon the envious moon with her sick pale light came to the maiden.
Now the maiden lays on the beach as she sings to the sea for the last time.
Oh come, come, one of the sea and listen to me for I am the sea's maiden!
