You got inside of me

again and again.

I only got to the outside of you,

Just a thin layer of flesh, just an incision,

And you’d be spilling out on to me

As I am all over these cheap sheets.

But alas, you were inside of me,

You spelunker, finding your way in this desolate cave.

And now you know the way through my body,

but never to my heart.

Baby, I want one thousand things,

but I'm erasing you off of that list.
