Keep me locked up inside my past

They bring back the memories

That will taunt me to my last

 

How can I forget

The look in your eyes

The very last time

I heard you say goodbye?

 

The fear in my eyes

That turned them to gray

The ache of my heart

On that very painful day

 

You took away my house

My home

Took away my comfort

Left me all alone

 

My body says I'm happy

My eyes prove I'm not

The happiness I search for

Cannot be simply bought

 

These scars on my heart

Capture my inside my past

Physical scars fade away

But the mental ones are here to stay
